Area Dogs Approve of Newly Painted Hydrants

Many dogs on Greany Drive and Tracy Ann have already expressed their approval for the newly painted fire hydrants. "These hydrant's are the best in town and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else," barked one local dog who was marking his territory and did not want to be identified. According to Grafton Fire Chief, Manny Burns, it is unknown which fireman used his artistic talent on the hydrants. "My boys obviously have way too much free time on their hands," stated Burns. Local resident Susan Burton was also happy to see the new layer of paint and remarked that the hydrants reminded her of the 80's band DEVO with their "cute little red hats."

Laugh while you can. That paint keeps the hydrants from rusting, thus prolonging their lifespans and saving taxpayers the expense of replacing them. It also improves the aesthetic of the neighborhood, which attracts a higher class of home buyer, ultimately increasing our property values. I'm sure there are plenty of other benefits (like maybe the ability for firefighters to quickly spot the hydrants when they have to extinguish your house) but I don't have that much free time on my hands...
